Crystal Falls Points/Skins
2021
2021 Crystal Falls MGA Points/Skins
Series:
The mission
of the Crystal Falls MGA Points/Skins Series and its weekly games is to provide a
friendly competitive opportunity for all members by making organized
competition easily obtainable, organized, and enjoyable.
This series
will provide competitive events each week on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and
Sunday as well as a major tournament.
The 2021
Crystal Falls MGA Points/Skins Tournament Series events will be Points based. In
addition, each event will include a Gross/Net Skins competition. The Points
event entry fee per event will be $10.00 with an optional Gross/Net $10.00 skins
competition. Only Points event participants can compete in the optional
Gross/Net Skins competition.
2021 MGA Points/Skins Series
Guiding Principles:
These include:
-Provide a points/skins game (Wed/Fri & Weekends).
-Provide a game which insures consistent scoring and a single ongoing point’s
quota for each player.
-Ensure that no skill level is excluded from the opportunity to
participate and win.
-Continue cash awards.
-Keep costs affordable.
Membership:
The MGA Points/Skins membership will only be available
to Crystal Falls Golf Club members.
This Full Membership will cost $45.00 for 2021 and will allow each member to
participate in all weekly events and the major year-end tournament. This Membership also allows for participation in all other MGA
events. Crystal Falls Golf Club members
can charge this membership to their club account.
Event Types and
Scoring:
All weekly games and the year-end major tournament will be “Points”
events. The scoring will be determined based on a points scored less points
quota formula. That is, each player will score points for ech hole played and
the total points earned will be the total points scored less the player’s
point’s quota. Generally, points will be scored on each hole based on the
player’s gross score as follows, in some events the points scoring may be
modified to test, different configurations and provide variations of events. In
the case that the points earned for an event will be modified, this change will
be advertised in advance of the event :

2021 Starting Points
Quota and Quota Calculation:
Each member will start 2021 with a starting point’s quota.
This starting points quota will be the resultant of the 2020 year ending points
quota (2020 Points/Skins participants) if applicable or will be determined based
on a player’s GSGA Handicap and the scores from his/her first three events. New
members will be limited to a +3 event score maximum for the 1st 3 events played.
After each event, the participant’s quota will be adjusted.
Points quota’s will be adjusted upward based on their event earned
points as follows:
Earned Points Points
Adjustment
+7 or above +4
4-6
+3
+3 or above +2
+2
+1
+1, 0 or less 0
No quota adjustments will be made to positive earned point’s
non-winners.
Event Scoring and Payout:
At the conclusion of play, a scorecard must be submitted to
the Administrator. Each scorecard submitted must have the players name
(First and Last), be ledgible and be attested
(Official Scorecard). If any
of the above conditions are not met, the event scorer at their option may
disqualify the scores (no event refund will be provided) or
attempt to score the card (Un-Official
Scorecard). If
errors are incurred in the scoring of an Un-Official Scorecard, the errors will
stand as official. If errors are made in
the scoring of the Official Scorecard, the errors will be corrected by the
event scorer and the event results will be adjusted.
Generally at the conclusion of each event, scoring and event
payout will be completed. The event administrator will record scores, calculate
payouts, complete payouts, and update scoring in preparation for the next
event. The scoring sheets will be posted
in the Pro Shop and will be posted on the web.
If a winning participant is not present for the payout, an envelope with
winnings will be left in the Pro Shop.
Some events will not be scored immediately since it is
anticipated that some Saturday and Sunday events may require split tee times.
In these events, the scoring will be done after the event but no later than
Tuesday of the following week. Results will be available on-line and payouts
will be available in the Pro Shop.
